David Cook is a fine artist from La Verne, California. He has been creating art since a young child. Growing up David loved horror movies, metal music and taking art classes. You would think he knew what his calling in life was but it wasn't until a few years ago while visiting an art gallery in Pomona, CA, and studying Illustration under The Clayton Brothers at Pasadena Art and Design during summer time. Since then he has been showing his work in galleries in California, Texas and New York. He currently shows at the Hyaena Gallery in Burbank, James Gray Gallery in Santa Monica, The Hive Gallery in Los Angeles and Cannibal Flower in Los Angeles. He creates many different characters that express many emotions. Desire has also been a main theme. Many people find love to be the idea of hugs and kisses, but David captures a deeper darker (flipflop) love that we all know. His work inspires you to express the ideas that are inside your head, as twisted and deranged as they might be. His beautiful dark paintings and drawings come to him at night when going to bed with a sketch pad close to his pillow. David states that all he wants when creating a painting or a drawing is to have the viewer look and then have to look again and be stimulated and over whelm with thoughts. David thinks the subconscious state of mind is beautiful when you let it do its thing. David is currently attending Pasadena Art Center College of Design.
